Albuquerque: Oct 9~12, 2008

The best way of travel, however, if you aren't in any hurry at all, if you don't care where you are going, if you don't like to use your legs, if you don't want to be annoyed at all by any choice of directions, is in a balloon. In a balloon, you can decide only when to start, and usually when to stop. The rest is left entirely to nature.
˜ William Pene du Bois

All of our time was spent at the Balloon Fiesta Park; after all, the Fiesta was the purpose of our trip. These pictures work a little different from the others on this site; they are in a slideshow. To stop and view a specific picture, simply move your cursor over the pic ~ controls will appear so you can pause, move back, move forward, or start the slide show again.

Just a warning ~ this page may take awhile to load because of the videos, so be patient.

We've added yet another feature - VIDEOS!  Make sure you check out all five:

  • Blowing Up the Balloon: watch and see how a hot air balloon is inflated
  • Taking Off: follow the smooth ascent as we leave the earth far below
  • In The Air: check out the 360° view of the New Mexico landscape
  • Landing: get a feel for how rough balloon landings can be
  • The Fiesta Grounds: compare how crowded the grounds are, even when the Glowdeo isn't running, to the empty field when the grounds are closed
